It’s Fall, Ya’ll!
Time to get our homes in tip-top shape for the cooler months ahead. It can be one of the busiest seasons for families, between pumpkin patches, treat-or-treating or finding that perfect pair of boats, it’s also a great time to take advantage of the moderate weather and have any repairs or maintenance done to your HVAC system.
Must do Heating Tips for Fall
It’s important that you take care of some HVAC maintenance this fall in order to ensure that your system will be able to comfortably and effectively carry you through the colder fall and winter months.
Schedule maintenance: Fall is the perfect time to schedule your maintenance. HVAC professionals tend to be at their busiest during the summer/winter months, so you’ll find it’s easier to get an appointment this time of year. If you haven’t already scheduled maintenance in 2018, make sure that you do so before winter arrives.
Clean or replace filters: Cleaning or replace your air filters in your HVAC system should be done at the start of a new season. This will keep your home more comfortable and help your system to run more efficiently. It can also help improve the indoor air quality of your home.
Change direction of fans: Ceiling fans can help to cool down a room of your home in the summer, but did you know you’re able to reverse their direction in the winter in order to keep your home warm? As heat rises during the cooler months, ceiling fans rotating counter clockwise can help to push warm air down towards the living areas of your home.
Clean your house: You may wonder what good housekeeping has to do with HVAC maintenance. Keeping your home free of dust and allergens is always important and fall is a wonderful time to perform a really deep clean of your home. Doing so will minimize the amount of dirt, dust, and debris that gets cycled through your HVAC system while your home is closed up during the winter.
